Injection molding to achieve the high precision required of optical lenses is a sophisticated technology with few manufacturing processes. Compared to the process of polishing glass material into glass lenses, injection molding enables the creation of free-form surfaces and is more suitable to the manufacture of aspherical lenses with varying localized curvature.
