

Aspherical glass lenses are manufactured by heating and softening glass preform lens blanks, and then pressing (molding) them at high pressure in Nittoh’s unique molds, before cooling down the lenses. This technology has made it possible to mass produce large diameter aspherical glass lenses, which was previously difficult to achieve by machining and polishing the glass lenses.
Nittoh uses its unique PGM (Precision Glass Molding) technology to manufacture a range of aspherical glass lenses in different shapes and sizes. This enables low-cost production of aspherical lenses while utilizing the optical characteristics, environmental characteristics and superior physical characteristics of glass lenses.
