Since it was founded, Nittoh has spent 60 years designing, manufacturing and developing lenses and cameras, and it has cultivated high precision mold technologies based on optical device manufacturing technologies fostered over those many years. We are able to manufacture molds for a range of products, from molds for optical elements in collaboration with our development and design division to molds for precision parts and cosmetic parts for cameras.

Cultivated through the design, manufacture and development of cameras, Nittoh’s optical technologies and experience enable the manufacture of high precision molds for any optical element, using the optimum methods for each stage from prototyping to mass production.
Our years of know-how, the latest technologies, and the skills of craftsmen enable us to meet the needs of our customers.

Nittoh normally uses thick electroless Ni-P plating as a surface treatment for the molds (inserts) used for molding plastic lenses when those molds require wear resistance and a mirror finish during use. Have a look at the characteristics of the thick electroless Ni-P plating method developed by Nittoh.

Nittoh manufactures mirror-finish inserts plated with thick electroless Ni-P coating, mirror-finish inserts manufactured through direct lapping, mirror-finish inserts manufactured using phosphor bronze, oxygen-free copper and other nonferrous metals, and mirror-finish inserts manufactured using binderless carbide.

Nittoh is using its technologies and experience as it undertakes the manufacture of molds for aspherical cylindrical lenses, molds for free-form lenses, and molds for fine lens arrays.
